Marc Bester is a highly experienced, professional, ethical and accredited Forensic Psychophysiologist as well as an Investigator. He was trained at the American International Institute of Polygraph (AIIP) in 2004. He has a 4 yr Degree in Security Risk Management through the University of South Africa. He also has a National Certificate in HR as well as Computer Programming.
Marc currently lives and works in the UK and immigrated over with him family in early 2021. Prior to this he owned a very successful Polygraph Company in Cape Town - South Africa since 2004. The company still operates today and has recently merged with SA's largest Polygraph company. Marc has done in excess of 19 000 Polygraph examinations. Most of these tests were based on criminal activities, investigative testing, pre employment screening and company labour matters. There are over 200 examiners in SA and testing is widely used by companies, police, government, trade unions, diamond mines etc. He has extensive experience if appearing in criminal and labour courts as an expert witness.
Marc owns the runs this partnership but also assists other UK based examiners and companies for testing around the country. He has been to the USA numerous times for the annual 5 day advanced training. He has done over 30 advanced APA accredited training courses. Most recently a 2 day Advanced Seminar with APA/SAPFED on 12/13 Nov 2022, a 2 day Advanced training with ISOPE on 18/19 Feb 2023 and a 2 day Advanced training seminar with SAPFED / APA on 11/12 Nov 2023 and a 2 day course with ISOPE on 18/19 Nov 2023.
Marc is a Director of the British Polygraph Society. UK's premier group of professional and ethical examiners.
MILITARY SERVICE
Marc successfully qualified as a highly trained Airborne soldier at 44 Parachute Brigade in 1993 and wore his Gold wings with pride. He gave many years service to his country and still today is part of 3 Parachute Regiment.
Our head examiner is a Director of the BPS.
After the military Marc worked for almost 10 years for the De Beers Diamond Group.
He was part of the Crime & Investigations Security team and was involved in extensive work at sea on the Marine Mining side as well as at mines in South Africa.
As part of his investigative career Marc has travelled through much of Africa to countries such as Sierra Leone, Angola, Zimbabwe, Lesothu, Tanzania and Nigeria etc.
Marc successfully climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in 2010 in order to raise money for a church charity. Kili is the world's highest free standing mountain (5895m) located in Tanzania.
Away from work Marc is very active outdoors. He has completed 9 Iron Man Triathlons. A Full IM race is a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and 42km run. Marc has also completed the Worlds biggest Ultra Marathon - The 90km Comrades a total of 7 times. He has done the World's biggest bicycle race - Cape Town Cycle Tour - 16 times. He has done in excess of 150 half marathons and over 30 full marathons. He also regularly does ultra distance trail running over 100km spanning a few days in the mountains.
Marc won an episode of the Weakest Link in 2007.
Marc is lucky to have met many famous and inspirational people over the world. Motivational icon David Goggins is also a former Airborne soldier.
